Students from SPA Gloria Honored“Excellent International Student of UESTC in 2023”& Academic Achievement Award and Sital and Abu from West Africa for Excellent Performance Awards

On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) proudly held the inauguralOpening Ceremony of the First Chinese Cultural Festival International Students Commendation Conference”.

During the ceremony, esteemed figures including the Dean of the School of International Affairs extended warm congratulations to exemplary students and presented prestigious awards. Among the distinguished recipients were Osei Seth, a doctoral student hailing from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Gloria Rebeca Rueda Duque from Ecuador, a master's student from the School of Public Administration. Both were honored with the coveted title of "Excellent International Student of UESTC in 2023" recognizing their exceptional contributions to academia and their embodiment of the university's values of excellence and diversity.

Notably, within the School of Public Administration (SPA), Gloria Rebeca Rueda Duque from Ecuador emerged as one of the outstanding students, clinching the First Prize of the Academic Achievement Award for the academic years 2022-2023. Her remarkable academic prowess and dedication to excellence have truly set her apart. Alongside her, Sital Chaulagain was bestowed with the First Prize of the Excellent Performance Award for the same period, recognizing her outstanding contributions and commitment to excellent performance. Furthermore, Koroma Abu Bakarr from Sierra Leone was honored with the Second Prize of the Excellent Performance Award, underscoring his notable achievements and dedication to academic success.


Since 2015, two international students from the School of Public Administration (SPA) have won the honor of "Excellent International Student of UESTC”. They are Yasmine Edderssi and Gloria Rebeca Rueda Duque. International students from the School of Public Administration are encouraged to  strive for and win the honor actively in the future.

The “Opening Ceremony of the First Chinese Cultural Festival International Students Commendation Conference” stands as a testament to UESTC's dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community, where excellence knows no boundaries and cultural exchange flourishes. The ceremony not only celebrated the remarkable achievements of these excellent students but also served as a testament to the vibrant multiculturalism and academic excellence fostered at UESTC. As the university continues to nurture talent and promote cultural exchange, it remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering students to excel in their academic pursuits and make meaningful contributions to society.
