On June 4, 2018, the 2018 African Forum at Shanghai Institutes for International Studies was held successfully whose theme was “International Cooperation on Africa: Achievements, Challenges and Prospects”. Professor Zhao, director of the Center for West African Studies of UESTC was invited to attend the forum as a discussant.
According to Professor Zhao, the main issues facing China-Africa cooperation is how to carry out international capacity cooperation and that the cooperation between China and Africa must be changed from the unilateral assistance of China to strengthening the mutual benefits for China and Africa under the framework of China Africa Ten Major Cooperation, which calls for working together for sustainable development.
This forum laid a platform for experts to discuss and explore ways to better deepen China-Africa cooperation and international cooperation with Africa.
