On December 28, 2017, the opening ceremony of the large-scale documentary "Africans in Yiwu" and the Seminar for China-Africa Film and Television Cooperation was held in Beijing. Professor Zhao, Director of Center for West African Studies of UESTC was invited to participate  the event.

Professor Zhao, also the keynote speaker mentioned that the Centre for West African Studies of UESTC promoted the "Africans in Yiwu” over the 2017 International Conference on Public Administration (12th ICPA) and International Symposium on West African Studies in Ghana. The response was enthusiastic. She indicated that the willingness of Centre for West African Studies of UESTC to continue cooperation with the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University to promote the official screening of the film in West Africa.

During the meeting, representatives from the Centre for West African Studies of UESTC discussed with the representatives from CCTV International Channel, and African Media Research Centre of Communication University of China for the potential cooperation as well.
