CWAS Chinese Culture Experience Base Set Up in Wangjiang Pavilion Park

On January 16, 2018, the unveiling ceremony of the Chinese Culture Experience Base jointly established by the Center for West African Studies of UESTC and Chengdu Wangjiang Pavilion Park Committee was held. This base aims to build a platform for the transmission and dissemination of Chinese traditional culture. 

Shen Xiaorong, Vice Chairperson of University Council of UESTC and Liu Yongzhong, director of Wangjiang Pavilion Park Commit unveiled the base witnessed by Wu Yinghong, founder of Lanma Art International and director of the Lanma Art International Research Center of UESTC, Tang Zhiwei, director of the UESTC Office and dean of the School of Public Affairs and Administration, UESTC, and Professor Zhao, director of Center for West African Studies of UESTC, as well as Prof. Gerge Kankam and Prof. Reynolds Okai from the University of Education, Winneba. More than 70 international students from UESTC witnessed the event as well.

On behalf of UESTC, Shen Xiaorong congratulated the establishment of the Chinese Culture Experience Base. She said that Wangjiang Pavilion Park is a national key and an old Chengdu landmark building, which contains rich historical and cultural heritage. At present, the number of overseas students in UESTC  has exceeded 1,000. The establishment of the Chinese Culture Experience Base will help international students  further understand in China.  

After the unveiling ceremony, teachers and students had a cultural experience by visiting the park.
