On May 7th, 2018, Center for West African Studies of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China held a lecture on the risks and countermeasures of international capacity cooperation: taking Ghana as an example given the context of China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative. Professor Zhao, director of Center for West African Studies of UESTC is the lecturer.
Prof. Zhao first briefly introduced herself as well as Center for West African Studies of UESTC. In attendance of the lecture were French visiting students and African students in UESTC. The lecture was divided by the major risks analysis, survey and analysis and suggestions for further discussions.
Prof. Zhao elaborated on the current situation of China's “Belt and Road" Initiative and the current status of China's international capacity cooperation between China and Africa. She emphasized that what can be done to strengthen China and Africa international capacity cooperation is a win-win for China and African countries. She also elaborated on a research that was conducted on the survey results from political, economic, cultural and social perspectives and the countermeasures for enhancing China Africa international production cooperation proposals were set forth.
After the lecture, Prof. Zhao on behalf of CWAS held an award ceremony for African students who volunteered and contributed in the 2018 Forum on “The 40th Anniversary of China's Reform and Opening up and Its Implications for African Development”.
