On September 10, the 2021 Teacher’s Day Commendation Conference was held to give glory to the faculty and staff who have made outstanding achievements and significant contributions in teaching, scientific research, talent management, international exchanges, and management and services in the past year. Faculty and staff of the Year (2020-2021) and representatives of faculties and students attended the event. The Center for West African Studies (CWAS) of the School of Public Affairs and Administration was awarded the “Model Group of International Cooperation and Education of UESTC”.
Over the past year, CWAS of UESTC, focusing on the practical issues and needs of West African countries, conducts joint research based on the training of international students by utilizing the advantages of disciplines and international exchanges of UESTC. In March 2021, CWAS was listed among accredited centers for National and Regional Studies for Universities by the Ministry of Education of China, which is of great significance for promoting the construction of high-level and international disciplines in the university and building a talent pool that can better serve the national major policies and have profound knowledge in country- and region- related studies.
CWAS of UESTC will, as it always, meet the strategic needs of the country, make the most of the advantages of the university and the school, promote the mutual learning of China-African cultures, respond actively to the national strategy toward Africa, and make greater contributions to China by upgrading its services in talent training, academic exchanges and think tank construction.
