On December 2, 2023, the expert team of the 5th ISWAS visited the African headquater of APSONIC, SINCERITY, which located in Lome, Togo, for discussion and research. The symposium was chaired by Zhou Hongwei, Vice President of SINCERITY.
The symposium focused on enterprise development, integration of production and education, China-Africa cooperation and other aspects. First, Zhou Hongwei introduced the development of APSONIC over the past two decades to the team of experts present, and detailed how APSONIC, as the largest motorcycle company in West Africa and the only motorcycle sponsor of the Africa Cup of Nations, originated, rooted and developed in Africa. Zhou Hongwei pointed out that Sincerity's success in the African market is credited to four major innovations: product localization, lifelong user service, closed-loop marketing service network, and long-term localization strategy.
As one of Sincerity's partners in the African market, Professor Cai Yong, director of the Innovation and Creativity Center of Southwest University of Science and Technology(SWUST), told about the development of the Center, which, co-founded in September 2022 by SINCERITY and SWUST, aims to promote the integrated development of industry and education, science and education, and build a talent training base for innovation and entrepreneurship and a platform for innovation in engineering design. Innovation tutor Wu Fan gave a introduction to the details of the Center to the experts, pointing out that the center was established to train talents for the development of Sichuan enterprises. In the future, the center will be committed to building a user sharing platform to promote Chinese enterprises to go to the African market.
Xie Yanshen, President of Association of Chinese nationals in Togo, pointed out that APSONIC’s development in the African market not only brings convenience to the local people's life and travel, but also further strengthens the cooperation between Chinese and African enterprises.
Later, experts and scholars said they all agree that SINCERITY has been deeply engaged in the African market for 20 years, and the win-win cooperation with the people of West Africa is worthy of study and discussion.
Professor Jiang Xiaoping pointed out that SINCERITY, with its recognized achievements in Africa, is an excellent example of Chinese enterprises going to Africa. It gives full play to the advantages in rich research resources of universities and helps to enhance the innovation ability of college students, promoting the deep integration of industry, university and research."
Professor Zhang Zhenke from Institute of African Studies, Nanjing University, speak highly of SINCERITY's internal and external strength. which refers to localized research and development and user demand-oriented pattern respectively.Professor Sun Yu, Art Education Center of Northwestern Polytechnical University, highly affirmed APSONIC's sense of responsibility and mission in its development in Africa.Professor Liu Hui, Cultural Quality Education Center of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, hopes to develop in-depth cooperation with the Innovation and Creativity Center of SWUST to develop "new engineering + new art" pattern.Professor Wu Min, School of Public Administration, Sichuan University, believes that APSONIC's focus on customer experience, continuous innovation and pioneering spirit are worthy to be learned by more Chinese enterprises.Qu Jianming, general manager of Goldisk Healthcare, Chengdu, believes that Chinese enterprises in Africa should learn from SINCERITY to promote brand publicity, creating value and leading the future through brands."
Finally, Zhao Shurong, Professor of the School of Public Administration, Director of CWAS of UESTC gave a summarize to the symposium,and she pointed out that the symposium is of great significance for enhancing understanding of Africa and promoting China-Africa cooperation.
