On December 5th, Professor Zhao Shurong, Director of the Center for West African Studies at the University of Electronic Science and Technology(UESTC) with Chinese delegation from the fifth ISWAS visited the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin. The purpose of this visit was to strengthen the academic cooperation and exchange between UESTC and the center of CWAS of UESTC with the University of Abomey-Calavi .
Initially, the delegation participated in an academic exchange and education event at the University of Abomey-Calavi. Professor Zhao Shurong, the Center Director, briefly introduced the University of Electronic Science and Technology, its School of Public Administration, and the Center for West African Studies. She also extended a welcome to students from the University of Abomey-Calavi to study and exchange at UESTC on how to apply for scholarship.
Subsequently, the team had an in-depth discussion with the Vice-Chancellor in charge of cooperation at the University of Abomey-Calavi, Professor Nelly KELOME, who emphasized the importance on ICT-enabled adminisration management, student employment, and social operations in the digital age. She expressed her delight at having this rare opportunity to discuss management science and government administration topics with Chinese experts, as well as on student employment issues.
Additionally, the team and the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Prof. Léon JOSSE, explored and exchanged ideas regarding cooperation between CWAS of UESTC and the Faculty of Law and Political Science ,including study abroad programs ,and engaged in close discussions with students of the Chinese language at the Confucius Institute of the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin.
The team also visited the first MOGU motorcycle one-stop repair shop of the Decheng Group's Benin branch to strengthen the collaboration between the center and enterprises. The manager gave the delegation a detailed introduction to the company's Benin operations and future development plans.
This exchange activity holds significant importance in further enhancing institutional exchanges and university-enterprise cooperation.
