Professor Zhao Shurong, Professor of the School of Public Administration of UESTC, Director of CWAS of UESTC,was selected as "Advanced Individual in Education Management for Foreign Students in Sichuan Province" for her outstanding performance in International student education.

Adhering to the concept of “cultivating research-oriented, innovative and international elite talents", Prof. Zhao Shurong, who is responsible for international student enrollment of the School of Public Administration, has been to Ghana, Togo, Benin, Kenya and other regions in Africa for more international students, and has enrolled a total of 228 international students along the "Belt and Road" countries and regions as well as African countries and regions, among whom 122 students has obtained their graduate diplomas.

As a mentor, Prof. Zhao Shurong has provided guidance to 30 international students since 2015, including 6 doctoral students and 24 master students, 17 of whom have obtained their diplomas, which means a graduation rate of 56.7%. With her guidance, her students have publish more than 10 papers in key journals, and nearly 30 articles in the column of "West Africa Studies" column set up by CWAS, as well as 4 monographs.

Her importance also given to the activities and publicity of international students’ education. She has supported the School of Public Administration to carry out a series of activities, including 10+"Enrollment education for International Students" , 30+ "Academic workshops for International Students", 20+ "Education for International Students on China's National Conditions" , and 3 "China in My Eyes" essay competitions.

As a teacher, Prof. Zhao Shurong has undertaken a total of 792 class hours since 2020 with an average score of 90.92 in teaching evaluation, and set up three offline courses and one online course for international students. The MOOCs online course "Globalization and World Politics" was selected as the provincial excellent open online course in 2019, the recommended list of MOOCs online courses for National and Regional Studies of Chinese universities in 2020, and the online first-class course of Sichuan Provincial Department of Education in 2022. She also undertook 4 international teaching reform projects, and one of which was approved by the Key Project of Teaching and Research Reform of UESTC in 2022 (JYJG2022016).

Thanks to her excellent International student education, Prof. Zhao Shurong has been awarded as "Advanced Individual in International Cooperation and International Education of UESTC", "Excellent Personnel Training for International Students in China and Excellent Manager of Foreign Affairs Management", "Excellent Instructor for Graduate Students Training in UESTC", "Excellent Course Teacher for Graduate Students Training in UESTC", "Excellent Instructor for Graduate Students Training in China", "Advanced Individuals in International Cooperation and International Education of UESTC".
