Jao Paschal,Member of the Center for West African Studies,Won 2nd and 3rd Prize in Digital Economy Category 2024

Jao Paschal is a PhD student in Management, Science and Engineering (E-commerce) from the School of Management and Economics, Under the supervision of Professor Zhao Shurong from the School of Public Administration, and Director of the Center for West African Studies.

This is the second time he has won the 2nd Prize, where the last year 2023 he won in the project titled "Solar-IoT". In this year's 2024 awards, Paschal presented two projects, the first is about E-commerce with a project named Integrate Electronics Goods Customers in Tanzania with China Suppliers and he managed to get the 3rd prize, and the other one is about Healthcare with the project name Family Health Records Through Smart Healthcare Kits-Tanzaniaand he managed to get 2nd Prize. All these prizes are in the Digital Economy category held in Shanghai at Tongji University on 1st November 2024.For details,please refer to the link below.

About 3rd China-Africa Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 2024

Since 2022, the Department of International Cooperation of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Science and Technology Exchange Center, and the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province have jointly hosted two sessions of the China-Africa Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. As the ninth Forum on China-Africa Cooperation will be held in China in the fall of this year, our center plans to launch preparatory work for the 3rd China-Africa Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the details of which are as follows:

Theme and content of the event

With the theme of “China-Africa Science and Technology Innovation for a Bright Future”, the event focuses on digital economy, circular economy, healthcare and new materials, and modern agriculture. The competition aims to further stimulate the innovation and entrepreneurship vitality of Chinese and African youths, broaden the space for innovation and entrepreneurship cooperation, and build a platform for China-Africa youth exchange and cooperation to facilitate China-Africa economic development and people-to-people exchanges.

The competition is divided into four fields: digital economy, circular economy, healthcare and new materials, and modern agriculture.In the competition, there is 1 first prize; 2 second prizes; 3 third prizes. The competition also has awards such as Best Creative Awards, and Awards of Excellence in each Category.
