From July 12th to July 14th, 2017, the UESTC students visited Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration(GIMPA). The first morning, the students made their visit to the famous Internet company DREAM OVAL in Ghana, a company focusing on mobile payment, big data processing and cloud services. The students had a thoughtful communication with the employees of DREAM OVAL and understood the general flow of relevant mobile application development. In the conversation with the company’s CEO, the students learned that the company’s expectations for the ability and professional skills that our college students should obtain in their future work.
Afterwards, the students returned to GIMPA's laboratory for project practice. The students were divided into three groups. The group consisted of Canadian students and students of UESTC. The students worked together to complete the project questions raised by the teachers. During this period, the students discussed with each other in detail and discussed the implementation of the project. The final work of the students was clearly clarified.
On the second day, the students visited another local company in Ghana. This is a company based on the development of short message service (SMS) interface. The person in charge described to the students how their company provides more convenient mobile payment, real-time voting and online browsing experience of music novels through SMS. He also hoped that students can help them solve some existing problems by familiarizing themselves with their SMS implementation principles.
Afterwards, the students returned to GIMPA's laboratory again and discussed the issues with the students' team members and developed solutions.
