From the beginning of the 15th century to the 1880s, the Western powers invaded and carved up Africa, which had been a symbol of Africa's passive integration into the modern world system through colonization. In the second half of the 20th century, during the struggle for independence and national liberation and economic development, Africa was at the edge of the world's politics and economy. Since entering 21st century, the development of China-Africa relations has stimulated international cooperation in Africa, and global and regional powers are seeking to establish platforms for cooperation with Africa, presenting a competitive situation. And African diplomatic strategy has showed a trend of alternatives. The strategic position of Africa has been improving. Africa is of fundamental significance in China's diplomatic strategy and China-Africa relationship has become a model of South-South Cooperation.
