From the beginning of the 15th century to the 1880s, the Western powers invaded and carved up Africa, which had been a symbol of Africa's passive integration into the modern world system through colonization. In the second half of the 20th century, during the struggle for independence and national liberation and economic development, Africa was at the edge of the world's politics and economy. Sinceentering 21st century, the development of China-Africa relations has stimulated international cooperation in Africa, and global and regional powers are seeking to establish platforms for cooperation with Africa,presenting a competitive situation. And African diplomatic strategy has showed a trend of alternatives.The strategic position of Africa has been improving. Africa is of fundamental significance in China's diplomatic strategy and China-Africa relationship has become a model of South-South Cooperation.

   Zhang Yongpeng, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the Institute of West Asian and African Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Professor of University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Directors of Chinese African History Association, Chinese Asian-African Association and Chinese Asian-African Development and Exchange Association, Researcher of Chahar Society; A visiting scholar in the universities and research institutions in South Africa, Australia and Belgium; Presided over and completed the national and ministerial-level academic projects, such as the National Social Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, etc.; Published a book on international aid to Africa and more than 100 academic articles.
